Crockpot Moonshine

A delightful homemade concoction perfect for gifting or enjoying at gatherings, this Crockpot Moonshine is flavorful and aromatic with simple preparation.

Ingredients

  • Fruits (apples, pears, or berries)
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Cloves
  • Vanilla beans
  • Granulated sugar, adjust to taste
  • Water, enough to cover the fruit mixture
  • Active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Combine the chosen fruits, spices, and sugar in your crockpot. Stir gently to distribute the sugar evenly.
  2. Pour in enough water to cover the mixture completely.
  3. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the mixture and stir it gently. Let it sit for a few hours at room temperature.
  4. Cover the crockpot and set it to low. Let it cook for 6 to 8 hours.
  5. Strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve into mason jars and discard the solids.
  6. Allow the moonshine to cool before sealing the jars.

Notes

Choose ripe fruits for enhanced flavor, and don’t skimp on spices for depth. Taste halfway through cooking to adjust sweetness or spice levels.
